Print- Magazine Analysis






Title of publication - 
The Title of the magazine is highlighted in comparison to the background of the magazine; Doctor Who is a worldwide franchise that is universally recognised so by making the title stand out as much as possible it will help selling the magazine because people will recognise it more due to its success on national television.
Slogan -
This magazine is a special addition magazine dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Doctor Who Television Show as a result they dedicated the slogan towards the 50th Anniversary Special "Celebrating 50 years of adventures in time and space" it's effective because they sum up the importance of the 50th Anniversary special with only one sentence. This will appeal to Doctor Who fans because it’s a limited edition only for the 50th Anniversary.
Central image -
With the central image they made the current Doctor at that time (Matt Smith) as the main character in this magazine however the story of the episode is that three doctors from the timeline meet up and save the day from evil and in the magazine they used the two other doctors (David Tennent and John Hurt) to pose with Matt Smith to showcase that three different doctors are working together in order to defeat evil.
Cover lines - 
The Cover Line in this magazine stands out because the background of the magazine is mixture of black and grey in comparison to the cover line which has a dark gold colour which makes the cover lines stand out, the central image will grab the audiences attentions and the cover lines will maintain the audience’s attention.
Competitions
The magazine offers a free Blu-Ray DVD's, CD's and books of doctor who for the lucky winner. This would appeal to Doctor Who fans because normally these DVD’s would cost a lot of money but with this magazine their giving it away to one lucky winner which many people will want to be.
Language
The language used in the cover contain a lot of buzz words like "Special, Adventure, Space and Time, Haunt" this is just in the cover alone the language is being used to create an image for the reader that the writer wants them to imagine so that they are interested in watching the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who.
